BCNG or biomethane is produced by biodegradation of renewable natural materials, which means that the produced energy is renewable. The main component of biomethane – methane – is an energy carrier that releases energy upon combustion. Therefore, it is possible to produce both electricity and heat using a combined heat and power plant.
