Alexela Virtual Power Plant actively trades:

• on the Nord Pool day-ahead market,
• on frequency markets.

Participation depends on the technical parameters of your solar park and the extent of flexibility offered. We always direct your production capacity to the market where maximum profit is possible at any given moment. 

If the day-ahead market price of electricity drops, we may limit solar energy production if necessary and redirect the released capacity to reserve markets.

Result for the customer:

• avoid selling electricity at an unfavorable low market price,
• simultaneously earn additional income from participating in reserve markets.

Even in case of high market prices, we can redirect solar park production to reserve markets if the offered compensation there exceeds the revenue from selling electricity.

This means that your asset is always working for maximum profitability – not only for selling electricity, but also for providing system services.

Installation of the control device is carried out in cooperation with your existing installer or our partner.

The device is installed next to the inverter and communicates with the inverter (e.g. via Modbus TCP) and the Alexela Virtual Power Plant system.

We support devices from most common inverter manufacturers, but the exact technical compatibility and integration options will be determined during a prior technical assessment.

A local internet connection (LAN connection or mobile data) is required for the operation of the control device to ensure continuous and secure data exchange with the Alexela Virtual Power Plant service.

The control device transmits to Alexela:

• production data,
• consumption data,
• limiting capability data.

We monitor the operation of your plant in real time and forecast flexibility to always direct power to the most profitable market.

Alexela sends automatic control signals to the control device, enabling:

• limitation of solar production,
• participation in reserve markets,
• start-ups and shutdowns if necessary.

• Your inverter's daily operation continues as usual.
• The control is secure and imperceptible to the customer.

• The economic profitability of the solar park increases.
